What We Treat

What ADHD therapy helps with

  • Attention and focus
  • Impulsivity
  • Executive function
  • Time management
  • Follow-through on tasks
  • Frustration and self-criticism that come with ADHD

PMHS is therapy-only and does not prescribe ADHD medication. With your written consent, we can coordinate a psychiatric referral.

Our Approach

How ADHD therapy works

  • The practical side. Therapy targets structure, follow-through, time management, and self-regulation.
  • Systems that fit you. You build systems that fit how your brain works instead of fighting it.
  • Less self-criticism. Support for the frustration and shame that often come with ADHD.
  • Adults and teens. Care is offered for adults and for teens 12 and older.

Sessions run 50 to 60 minutes by secure video or phone. Joining takes one link, with no app to download.

When To Reach Out

Signs ADHD is getting in your way

  • You start projects with energy but struggle to finish them
  • Deadlines, bills, or appointments slip through the cracks
  • You lose track of time or underestimate how long things take
  • Clutter, missed messages, or forgotten tasks create constant stress
  • You feel restless, impulsive, or easily bored
  • Years of feeling behind have worn down your confidence

You do not need a formal ADHD diagnosis to start therapy for these struggles.

What To Expect

How ADHD therapy unfolds

  • Mapping your challenges. Your clinician learns where ADHD shows up most, at work, at home, in school, or in relationships.
  • Building systems. You design routines, reminders, and planning tools that match how your attention works.
  • Testing what works. Each week you try strategies in real life and adjust what does not stick.
  • Working on the emotional side. You address the frustration, shame, and self-criticism that often build up over years.

Therapy for ADHD is practical. Expect to leave sessions with something specific to try.

Why Telehealth Works

Fewer steps between you and your session

For people with ADHD, every extra step, like leaving on time, driving, and finding parking, is another chance to miss an appointment. Telehealth cuts those steps down to opening a link.

Sessions from home also let your clinician help you work on the real environment, like your desk setup, calendar, and reminders, instead of talking about them in the abstract.

Myths & Facts

Common myths about ADHD therapy

MythADHD is just a lack of effort.

FactADHD affects attention, planning, and self-regulation in the brain. Trying harder does not fix it, but the right strategies help.

MythOnly kids have ADHD.

FactADHD often continues into adulthood, and many adults are recognized for the first time later in life.

MythMedication is the only treatment.

FactMedication helps many people, but therapy builds the skills and systems medication cannot.

Do you prescribe ADHD medication?

No. PMHS is a therapy-only practice. With your written consent, we can coordinate a referral for a medication evaluation.

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to start?

No. You can start therapy for focus, follow-through, and organization struggles whether or not you have ever been diagnosed.

Do you work with teens who have ADHD?

Yes. Teen care is offered for ages 12 and older, with guardians involved with consent.
